Street theatre often falls into the realms of the weird and the wonderful, the ridiculous and the bizarre; as are those people that choose to do it. Frequently these people are seen as strange or freak-like for exposing themselves in such an extraverted fashion in a society that has stamped out spontaneity, exuberance and expression in public spaces. We walk grey faced and drably dressed along our concrete corridors darting into one doorway after another and adding to the collection of bags in our hands. There is little or no eye contact with others during this time, and those eyes that do meet briefly are quickly averted. Then something strange happens, something pink and yellow, and spangled. There is music and movement. All of a sudden the need to get on with the day has been overcome by a wholly out of the ordinary and unexpected event…
